Mitt Romney’s comments about PBS and Big Bird during last week’s debate made quite a fuss, and now will.i.am is entering the fray with a remix of the Sesame Street theme song that he debuted at an Obama event at Ohio State on Tuesday. "I'm a huge 'Sesame Street' fan," will wrote after the event. "I personally selected this music because it means a lot to me and it is one of the first songs I ever remember hearing as a child.” Romney is promising to cut funding for PBS, a move that Democrats and presumably will.i.am oppose.
Turns out that Sesame Street isn’t too happy with being used in a political tug-of-war, though. The same day will performed his remix, the show’s production team sent a note to the Obama and Romney camps asking “that both campaigns remove Sesame Street characters and trademarks from their campaign materials.”
