Youth Voters Want Specifics From Ryan at Biden-Ryan VP Debate Tonight

After last week’s “Rumble in the Air-Conditioned Auditorium” debate between conservative Bill O’Reilly and liberal Jon Stewart, MTV News spoke with young attendees about what they’d like to hear during tonight’s Vice Presidential debate. And they were clear: they wanted specifics on budget plans from Joe Biden and Paul Ryan, and they wanted to know how their policies would affect youth.

Muhammad Korany said that he wanted to hear an examination of Romney VP candidate Ryan’s controversial budget. Korany warned that he thinks that Ryan and Romney are avoiding discussing specifics because it would turn Medicare “into essentially a voucher program.” Jennifer Braisted agreed that Ryan needs to offer up concrete details about Romney’s plans but didn’t think those details would necessarily prove unpopular. “Paul Ryan being chairman of the Budget Committee really needs to speak more about his plan. Like Gov. Romney, he needs to give more details so that he can assure the American people that him and Gov. Romney would be the right choice for them.”
